Each region of Guatemala has their own design. Most textiles are made on a back strap loom. Lots of indigenous women make them by hand which can take months. They use traditional symbols such as animals, flowers and ancient designs. Each textile usually contains one of these 3 things, sometimes all. The most popular textile is the Huipil. A huipil is a Mayan blouse the indigenous women and girls wear. All of our products are made out of vintage, up-cycled huipiles.
